Create Uncial Calligraphy in Procreate
A collection of 16 inky Procreate brushes to make striking medieval Uncial calligraphy. The eight calligraphic brushes have a 20 degree contrast angle, to make authentic Uncial letterforms in classic smooth ink, a rough version that simulates live pen irregularities, and a distressed ‘dry’ versions of the Chisel and Broadnib styles. The matching ‘pen tip’ version of each calligraphic brush echoes the lines made by using one corner of a rigid calligraphy pen, or the tip of a brushpen, to craft beautiful decorations and flourishes. Traditional Uncial calligraphy was a favored script for books scribes in the 4th to 8th centuries. Uncial letters have rounded, simple strokes. Although uncial has no lowercase, but some letters have ascenders and descenders. This brush set is uniquely crafted to help you make authentic Uncial letterforms easily in Procreate.

Barstow Type Family
Barstow is my revival of the 1854 Wells & Webb reverse-contrast woodtype sensation, Gothic Tuscan Italian. The original 48 characters were designed by Darius Wells. Barstow expands Wells’ work into a type family with three styles and over a thousand letterforms:
Regular, modeled after the original;
Shadow, an outline font with a slight 3D shadow (or as the Victorians would say, a ‘modulated outline’);
Xtra, a dingbat font with all the gems and icons a designer could want including hearts, stars, rainbows, funky arrows and hands.
Features include robust Latin language support, symbols and decorative icons, as well as thoughtful OpenType features like substitution and alternates that make designing a breeze.
Barstow is great for short emphatic bursts of text in branding, headlines, deep thoughts and eye-catching quotes at 36pts and larger.
